Thanksgiving Wines

Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays when a large majority of American families actually serve a glass of wine with the festive menu. We encourage that notion greatly and hope you extend it to a more frequent occasions. In the meantime here is our suggestion list of wines to choose from for this years Thanksgiving menu. Cheers!

Lanson Brut NV – a delicious bubbly to start with at an equally delicious price $34.98

La Canan Albarinho 2013 –  Dry and tightly wound, offering energetic citrus and orchard fruit flavors with excellent energy on the finish, leaving behind lime and pear skin notes. $19.99

Dr. Wagner Ockfener Bockstein Kabinett 2013 – minerally, a tad of residual sugar with great acidity and food friendliness. $19.99

Newton Red Label Chardonnay 2012 – a welcome companion to the dining table, offering a fresh expression of the varietal. Shows vibrant fruit notes, from melon to green apple, on the nose, and these are echoed on the palate along with fresh fig and pear, all balanced by racy acidity and hints of vanilla. $21.99

Eric Kent Rose 2013 – probably the best pink wine of the year, complex enough to cover all facets of this dinner $21.99

Seghesio Zinfandel 2012 – quintessential American wine for the qunitessential American meal, rich and filled with berry flavors, well-structured and elegant. $19.99

Domaine des Miquettes St. Joseph 2011 – Syrah aromas of black and blue fruit preserves, olive, violet and cracked pepper, with a hint of smoked meat in the background. Juicy, focused, offering vibrant blackberry and  cherry flavors that gain sweetness and spiciness with air.$33.99

Cain Cuvee – another great American choice from an elite California winery that keeps giving us something to talk about and enjoy, especially with the leg of turkey. $32.99

Davis Family Soul Patch Pinot Noir 2012 –  this might be the best wine on this list to match with Turkey, comprised of the best barrels of the vintage, just be sure to decant and happiness follows. $44.99

Venge Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 – the epitome of lush, rich but not overbearing, serve this one and your guests may only leave when the last bottle is drained. $59.99
